October 15 Richard Armour watches the beginning of construction of a new maintenance building to be used by both the Retreat and the Community. Maintenance vehicles, including our fire truck, will be stored and serviced here, and there will also be an office for Community use. The site of the new building is on North Yogacharya Way (north of Ranch Road) in the field across the road from the old generator enclosure. Completion is expected before the end of 2018.

Below is a video of the talk on home building given by Christin Nolan at Song of the Morning Community Day, June 24, 2017. Note: Song of the Morning does not specifically endorse any particular home building company.

Community residents joined with some of the Ranch staff for some cake after a January 5th (2015) birthday commemoration ceremony for Yogananda.

We have fond memories of Betty Howard, a long-time devotee and member, who passed away at the age of 94 in Gaylord on March 8, 2018. Betty will be remembered for her enthusiasm and for the many members she inspired to follow Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings.

Betty was a true pioneer in the yoga movement, as she helped to form the first official Chicago Meditation Group for Self-Realization Fellowship in 1963. She had strong devotion, an unshakeable spiritual foundation, and a big heart. She helped many of us through her generous compassion, friendship, wisdom and guidance.
